R.M. Guera speaks
Interview at Newsarama
Nrama: Then to finish up, how would you describe your overall experience of working on Scalped?
Guéra: It’s gratifying on all levels, especially the feel of tremendous luck it came to be reality at all. Giulia Brusco on colors, that also is absolute blessing.
I think that by now it’s obvious that Scalped is a serial of both of our careers, Jason’s and mine, no matter what we do after. There’s a strong sense that the best is still to come, which is simply inspiring, as we’ll go on together.
I said it once somewhere, I’d draw Jason’s recipe for a cake. And I mean it...

DARK REIGN: THE LIST Interviews
CBR:
"It's a big, crazy, very frenetic action story where I get to play with some super cool Grant Morrison toys. The whole thing takes place in The World, which is the super cool laboratory we saw in Morrison's 'New X-Men' run. We have all these characters kind of fighting to control The World but at the same time fighting to keep the all new Weapon XVI from escaping out into the outside world."

Yeah, I'm really proud of my run on Ghost Rider so far. I've brought in machine-gun toting nurses, redneck cannibal ghosts, mass-murdering ministers and zealots, warrior angels, nunchuck nuns, all new Ghost Riders from around the world, an all new Caretaker, former Ghost Rider Danny Ketch, a disgruntled, hook-handed ex-cop with a hellfire shotgun and a dude with a giant eyeball for a head. I'd say that's a pretty good start.

Anatomy of a Panel: SCALPED
If you're into the process of making comics, you should find this interview interesting. Artist RM Guera, editor Will Dennis, colorist Lee Loughridge and myself are all interviewed about one specific scene from SCALPED. Sort of like the Anatomy of a Scene shorts they do on IFC. Check it out.

Matt Fraction wants to eat my brain
“I think there’s a good-natured spirit of camaraderie and competition,” Fraction said of the looming showdown. “I want to cleave Jason Aaron’s skull open and eat his brains.”
From a nice article on Fraction and the Kansas City comic scene, from today's KC Star:

I'm now Marvel exclusive
Q: But what does that mean for SCALPED?A: Nothing. SCALPED will go on and on, just as planned.
This basically just means I'll be writing two books a month for Marvel and nothing for the DCU (except for one issue of something I'd already written) for the next two and a half years.

My Marvel Future

There's a new interview at Newsarama where I talk about my upcoming Marvel work, namely a four issue stint on WOLVERINE and the ongoing duties on GHOST RIDER. One thing I forgot to mention was that covers for my GHOST RIDER run will be by the amazing Marko Djurdjevic.
Here's the interview.
P.S. There's also some exciting news about SCALPED mentioned.
Alter Ego Comic Cast #68
Interview at PopMatters
'Scalped' writer having sizzling August
by Bill Radford
It’s a big month for Jason Aaron.
The start of August saw the release of a trade paperback collecting the first five issues of his ongoing series, SCALPED.
Also this month from Aaron: issue No. 8 of SCALPED, published by Vertigo, DC Comics’ mature-reader imprint; the double-size WOLVERINE No. 56 from Marvel; and RIPCLAW: PILOT SEASON No. 1 from Top Cow.
It would seem the days of waiting tables and stocking video-store shelves are over for Aaron, who is happily adjusting to the transformation from comics fan to comics pro.

New Interviews
With Emmett Furey at Comic Book Resources:
“For the most part, (SCALPED) will take place exclusively on Prairie Rose,” Aaron continued. “But we will get flashes of other locations at times, including an Indian boarding school in issue #7, a West Texas Kickapoo rez in #8 and Leavenworth Penitentiary in #11.” Aaron has also pitched to Serbian artist R.M. Guéra the possibility of the artist writing and drawing an issue flashing back to Dash's military tour in Kosovo. “Guéra and I have had a great relationship from the get-go, even though we're very different people. He's very passionate and animated. I'm much more reserved and laid back. Still, we always seem to be on the same page when it comes to ‘Scalped.' I couldn't imagine doing the book with anybody else.”
With Tim O'Shea at Silver Bullet Comics:
Guéra and I first really bonded over westerns, especially the books of Elmore Leonard and the film versions of Hombre and Valdez is Coming. And also the films of Sam Peckinpah. I was initially approaching Scalped as a straight crime story, and Guéra was looking at it as a modern-day western, so I think the finished product is somewhere in the middle, which works out perfectly.
And with Daniel Gaddy from my hometown newspaper, the Daily Mountain Eagle:
After UA, Aaron said he worked a “bunch of crappy day jobs,” the longest of which was at Johnny Ray’s Barbecue in Pelham. “I still miss that coconut cream pie,” he said.
