THE END OF MY RUN ON WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN

As seen in the Marvel solicits for February, issue #42 will be the end of my run on WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN. The original plan was for me to write both WatXM and AMAZING X-MEN as sister titles. One dealing with the school, the other with the X-Men from that school going on adventures out in the world. But unfortunately my schedule just didn't allow that. So I've been writing the post-Battle of the Atom arc of WatXM as my goodbye to that series and to the Jean Grey School. Believe me, it wasn't easy for me to step away from this book. I've loved building that school and writing those characters, both the students and the teachers, as much as I've loved anything I've done in comics. But the school itself isn't going anywhere. And I'll still be writing a lot of those same characters over in AMAZING. And I've got lots of other stuff coming up that demanded my time, like THOR and SOUTHERN BASTARDS and some new things I can't tell you about just yet.

So I'll save all my tearful goodbyes until we get to the end, but for now, just let me say THANK YOU once again to everybody who's bought this book along the way. Thank you for embracing such an offbeat X-series. 42 issues of Bamfs and Doop and sentient lawns? I love you all for helping make that happen.

JGS forever.

I am super sad to hear this. This book got me back into the X-Men after years of not being involved in the comic scene at all. I am super relieved, though, to hear the school will be staying; I love the school you have created and all the characters you've developed.

Thank you for everything, and I'll definitely still be reading you in Amazing X-Men.

This was heartbreaking news for me, because this was my favorite comic series that I've had the good privilege of following monthly since I got into comics. I want to second the sentiment expressed by others that this book made the X-Men good again. I'll miss it a lot, but we still have Amazing, plus the school will still be around. Still, I'll hold out hope that someday you write another JGS centric book again.

I hate the idea of the Jean Grey School closing.

Hooray!! Not that the series is ending, but that the school isn't closing and we'll still see them in Amazing X-Men. This has been my favorite Marvel series ever since it started. I am of course sad to see WatXM go, but I was worried that that wonderful school and characters would go too. Your writing of Wolverine has been my favorite ever since you started, and I hope that he'll still be in Amazing X-Men!

Thank you so much for writing this series, it makes me sad to know its going to end as it is the series that actually began me purchasing comics rather then reading a couple here and there, how you've evolved characters like Kid Omega, Idie and Warbird is just brilliant. I hope I see these characters in other titles and hopefully often in your Amazing X-men.

I don’t know why all these x men characters are so popular? I didn’t like them at all. But everyone is crazy for them. I just hate these superhero kinds of movies.

Great run, Aaron! W&TXM was crazy fun from the start, filled with innovation, from the rich kids villains or Kitty being pregnant, to the galactic casino, and many other arcs. Many unexpected characters like the Shi´ar kids, Apocalypse Jr., the little dude Broo, Idie and Quentin... I really enjoy every punch you were throwing to X-Men mythology with a smart twist to them! My favorite run on an X-men book for a long, long time! Also, I loved the Bachalo runs & Bradshaw runs in covers and interior art, and was great to have such a great book on weekly doses!
