WOLVERINE #65 out this week

It's the last part of the GET MYSTIQUE arc, a storyline I'm sad to see end. I had a lot of fun with this story and loved working with Ron Garney, who really knocked it out of the park on this whole arc.

I liked this arc on Wolverine. I thought that your pacing was excellent and Ron Garney remains one of the underrated talents of the comic industry. I do have one complaint, but I'll put it as a spoiler.

SPOILER

I would have liked a more conclusive ending to the arc. That is I would have liked to have seen Mystique get killed very explicitly. The way it's written she could make it out alive. I know there is the argument, and it's legitimate, that expecting anything like a death to stick in super-hero comics is ridiculous. But given the nature of the story itself I felt like it needed to end with her dying unambiguously. However, that being said I thought it was a very good story. I especially liked the page where Mystique kicks Logan off the train.

I never really had any interest in killing Mystique, and like you said, even if I had, she wouldn't have stayed dead for more than five minutes. I think she's a great character, and I'd rather see more stories with her. If nothing else I just hope this story will help to make her relationship with Logan a little more interesting.

I've read Wolverine for years. I still have the original Frank Miller mini series. In recent years the title has not been a favorite and I had taken off my pull list.
I enjoyed you're stand alone issue, and I loved this arc you just did. It feels like Wolverine back to his roots a bit.And the art also rocked.
You may have just added to my monthly spending Mr. Aaron.

Explain to me why it's out considering it's the July 2008 issue. Thanks.
